Description : The relation between France and Japan in the domain of Singularity Theory and
its applications was mainly initiated by the influence of Professors Heisuke Hironaka
and Ren´e Thom. Then it has been strongly developed in the past decades. Bilateral
visits, in particular by young post-doc researchers, produced many joint publications.
There have been also many collaborations between Japanese and French researchers,
concretized as four joint congresses in Singularity Theory.
The Forum will be an opportunity to present recent results obtained in Singularity
Theory and its applications in various fields such as Astrophysics, Medical Imaging, Vision
Theory and Learning Theory. It will be also be a good occasion for young Japanese
and French researchers to learn about recent developments in the field.
